The Netherlands Wind Ensemble and Duda Paiva Company join forces once again for Breath of the Forest, an urgent theatrical concert performance created with the Kamayurá community deep in the Amazon. Along with Andreia Duarte, an artist and researcher who lived with the Kamayurá for many years, the NBE and Duda Paiva traveled to the Amazon and immersed themselves in the lives of this indigenous community. Inspired by their worldview and the music of Heitor Villa-Lobos, the performance weaves music, movement, and puppetry into a ritual of listening. Breath of the Forest honors indigenous peoples as guardians of the Amazon and bearers of indispensable knowledge. Expect a meditative and physical experience, rooted in ethical exchange and mutual consent. A musical and theatrical story told in foam, breath, and sound.
