September 1935 in Paide, Estland) ist ein estnischer Komponist, der als Vertreter der Neuen Einfachheit als einer der bedeutendsten lebenden Komponisten Neuer Musik gilt und der weltweit meistgespielte Komponist Neuer Musik ist. Er hat neben der estnischen auch die österreichische Staatsbürgerschaft. Von 1981 bis 2008 lebte er in Berlin.”
