Debussy's La Mer

Philzuid brings an ode to Finnish and French composers who are in love with the beauty of winter nature. The healing power of nature is heard in the works of Einojuhani Rautavaara, including his Cantus Arcticus. The rising German violinist Tobias Feldmann solos in Rautavaara’s Violin Concerto. Debussy's La Mer is a significant example of musical impressionism, depicting the moods of water through sound.
