Founded in 2025 within the OPRL, the Andriesii Quartet opens the concert with Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 11, an intense and tormented work. A shift in atmosphere follows with Debussy’s only String Quartet, composed in 1892. Finally, in Warmth from Other Suns, Carlos Simon depicts the mass exodus of African Americans fleeing the southern United States between 1916 and 1970.
