OPRL + film concert: Chaplin, Modern Times (additional performance)

In 2027, sound cinema celebrates its 100th anniversary! Yet when Charlie Chaplin directed his first talking picture in 1936, Modern Times remained without dialogue. He included only sound effects and a few songs, such as the famous Smile. A subversive masterpiece, critical of the absurdity of industrialisation, with music composed by Chaplin himself. Fifty years after his death, the Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège pays tribute to him with this film concert, in which his music is performed live in perfect synchronisation with the screening.
