An evening with various works that were all taken up and/or arranged by Mozart. Handel's "Ode auf St. Caecilia" was premiered in London in 1739 and later reorchestrated by Mozart at the request of Baron van Swieten. The program also includes Viotti's Violin Concerto No. 16 and a symphony by Abel, whose orchestrations were expanded by Mozart. The crowning conclusion is Mozart's Symphony KV 543, a highlight of his symphonic work full of expressive variety and orchestral colors.
