A story based on interviews with people born in the 1940s, Philip Venables’ We Are The Lucky Ones explores life and survival in Western Europe during the 20th century. The libretto connects wars and the moon landing with first kisses and family foundations, questioning the relationship between personal choices, politics, and society.
