Argentine pianist Nelson Goerner returns to the OPRL in Rachmaninoff’s Second Concerto, a burning work in which virtuosity serves a broad, radiant and deeply Russian lyricism. The concert also features Florent Schmitt’s La tragédie de Salomé, combining the decadent legacy of Symbolism with orchestral refinement and rhythmic energy.
